A Coastal Rosemary Beach Wedding in Soft Blue, White, and Warm Neutrals

6 days ago 19

Kayla and Andrew got engaged on the Eastern Green, and a year later they said their vows in that very spot. 30A to Wed and Destin to Wed shaped a Rosemary Beach celebration in light blue, dusty blue, white, tan, and gold, right down to the guests, who were asked to dress in shades of blue. All-white arrangements and greenery by Florals by the Sea framed the entrance to Town Hall and the sailcloth tent, where white floral drum chandeliers hung above a tan and white patterned dance floor wrapped by Emerald Coast Event Wraps. Katherine & Tyler Photo and Films captured every seashell place card and the white Moke getaway; you do not want to miss the full gallery.

The Planning

Design / Vibe / Vision

The wedding design was inspired by the coastal beauty of Rosemary Beach and the natural colors found along its shoreline. The vision was a celebration filled with soft blues, crisp whites, and warm neutrals that felt timeless, elegant, and reflective of the destination. One of the favorite parts of the planning process was collaborating on the creative details that brought the vision to life. Alongside wedding planner Sherri Kuhn and the talented team at Florals by the Sea, every element was thoughtfully selected, from linens and florals to seating and furnishings. A mix of textures and patterns was incorporated, including floral linens, varied table layouts, and mismatched blue bridesmaid dresses, all while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. To complete the vision, guests were encouraged to wear shades of blue. Seeing everyone arrive in colors that beautifully complemented the coastal backdrop created a sense of harmony throughout the day.

Proposal Story

The couple first met in elementary school as classmates in the third grade but did not reconnect until years later after college when they matched on Hinge. From their very first date, everything felt easy and natural. They quickly realized they shared the same values, faith in God, and vision for the future. In September 2023, they traveled to Rosemary Beach, Florida, where they found themselves talking about marriage. One evening, they came across a wedding reception being set up on the Eastern Green, and she shared that if she ever got married, her dream would be to celebrate there. A few months later, on February 23, 2024, Andrew surprised Kayla with a proposal on the Eastern Green, in the very place where she had shared that dream. Less than a year later, on February 1, 2025, that dream became reality as they celebrated their wedding on the Eastern Green surrounded by family and friends.

The Fashion

Wedding Gown

The bride wore a custom version of Anne Barge’s Dream Weaver gown, featuring a straight neckline in place of the original V-neck design and delicate beaded floral appliqués that added a soft, romantic shimmer. Drawn to the timeless elegance and Southern charm of Anne Barge designs, the gown felt especially meaningful. It was the very first dress she tried on at The Bridal Finery in Winter Park, Florida. The team thoughtfully curated a selection of gowns based on her preferences, ultimately finding the perfect match.

Bridesmaid Dresses

The bridesmaids wore a curated collection of mismatched dresses from Revelry in shades of navy, dusty blue, and light blue, along with blue-and-white patterned styles, creating a cohesive yet layered coastal palette.

Groomsman Attire

The groom and groomsmen wore classic black suits from Jos. A. Bank for a timeless and refined look.

The Details

Food & Drink

Guests enjoyed a variety of catering options provided by Townsend Catering, including a build-your-own pasta station, chicken piccata, and beef tenderloin served in a martini glass for a refined presentation. Late-night chicken biscuits were also served as a fun and comforting ending to the evening. The bar featured signature cocktails, including her “Rose-Married Spritz” with St-Germain, Prosecco, soda water, mint, and a lemon wheel, and his “Happily Ever Highball” with Japanese whiskey, lime soda, and citrus shrub.

Florals & Decor

Florals were designed and curated by Florals by the Sea, featuring all-white arrangements and greenery that created a timeless, coastal-inspired aesthetic throughout the day. A floral arch at the entrance of Town Hall welcomed guests and set the tone for the celebration, while aisle florals from the ceremony were later repurposed around the DJ booth for a dramatic reception moment. A second floral arch framed the entrance to the sailcloth tent on the Eastern Green, creating a seamless transition into the reception space. From the beginning, a sailcloth tent was a priority for the bride for the reception, and seeing it come to life was one of the most memorable moments of the day. White floral drum chandeliers suspended beneath the tent became a signature design element, adding softness and warmth to the space. The tabletop design featured a refined mix of gold accents, clear glass, and white elements, creating an elegant balance of texture and coastal simplicity. The dance floor, wrapped by Emerald Coast Event Wraps, featured a tan and white patterned design that added warmth and visual interest while tying the entire reception together. Subtle seashell details were incorporated throughout the design, including custom seashell place cards by Niaspapers and seashell-inspired bar signage by The Luxe & Co.

Wedding Cake

For dessert, a four-tier all-white wedding cake by Sweetly Sisters served as the centerpiece, featuring delicate floral appliqués cascading diagonally from bottom to top. It was as beautiful as it was delicious and was paired with chocolate chip cookie skillets and vanilla ice cream as a groom’s dessert from Townsend Catering.

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was having Andrew’s uncle and father figure Randy officiate the wedding. His presence made the moment deeply personal and special to the couple.

Special Detail #1

Pazookies were served as the groom’s dessert, inspired by his love of warm, freshly baked cookies. The choice also referenced an early date in the couple’s relationship, when they ended the evening at Chili’s and shared Pazookies after a more formal dinner, making it a meaningful nod to that memory.

Special Detail #2

The getaway car was a white Moke, originally rented by Andrew for the proposal weekend and brought back for the wedding day. It added a playful coastal touch and created a memorable exit through Rosemary Beach.

Special Detail #3

Guests were encouraged to wear shades of blue, and seeing everyone arrive in a coordinated coastal palette created one of the most visually striking moments of the day. It brought the entire design vision to life in a way that felt effortless and deeply cohesive.
